Please Read this page before considering purchasing any waterfowl, gamebirds, or poultry from us.
I do post ads on Craigslist from time to time when I am selling some of my flock. I take very good care of my birds and though they are expensive to care for and keep fed and healthy I find that there are people in this world who plan to fight birds, or get them to look at not realizing the responsibility they are taking on. If you are going to purchase birds please do it with the reality that they are going to cost more than you will make. They are not something that you can entertain yourself with, they are not a toy to be played with. They are much like a baby in that they depend on you for food, protection and care.
I do know a lot about birds, I have been raising them for a few years now and have become accustomed to the ads on CL saying that so and so purchased a duckling or chick at Tractor Supply and now they cant keep it. I have also seen ads of people wanting to take peoples unwanted pets, birds, livestock etc. Many times, those people get your animals and take them off to auctions where they are given to the highest bidders, they may or may not get a loving home. No when you sell something you can never know for sure whether it is going to a nice home. I like to ask questions of the people who are interested in purchasing my birds. If you don't like that then please, move on. This is not a production line, in most cases I have raised these birds from babies to adults and I love them all. Don't expect me to give them to you free and clear without asking questions. I do not give away birds either. Understand that is not just a hobby for me this is also a choice of living. I do eat some of my stock. I enjoy the quail and pheasant meat very much. I will be getting NPIP testing done this winter.
In short, I will ask you questions about what you plan to do with the birds once you get them home, I as a farmer, human being and the owner of these birds reserve the right to deny selling them to anyone if I so choose. I also would like to add, that if you purchase hatching eggs from me, I am not liable for a lacking hatch as temperature and humidity during hatch have a lot to do with the way things turn out. I price my stock reasonably and I know that my birds aren't made of gold unlike some people on CL who think that they are all diamonds and gold.
